Can one consider that milk with 2% fat content is a food not very rich in fat?

Burn Fat Fat article:

When a milk with 2% fat content is bought one has the impression that it acts of a weak food in fat. This percentage is misleading. It indicates the volume which the fat content occupies in milk. Thus in the case of milk with 2% fat content, this expression means that the fat content counts for 2% of the total volume of milk. This way of evaluating the fat hides the truth.

Calories which count:
What counts really it is to know which is the percentage of the calories brought by the fat compared to the total calories present in milk. In other words, the fat of milk count for 10, 15, or 20% of the total calories of milk? It is what it is necessary to know because the fats should not count for more than 30% of our total caloric intake.

The full-cream milk with 3.25% of fat, generates 157 calories for a quantity of 250 milliliters, that is to say approximately 8 ounces. These calories come from sugars, proteins and the fat of milk. This quantity of milk contains, as indicates its containing, 8.6 grams of fat. As the fats contain 9 calories per gram, they thus generate 77,4 calories. One can then make the rule of three following: 157 calories = 100% of the calories 77.4 calories represent 3.25 % of total volume. We can thus calculate 100 X 77.4 and divided by 157, the answer gives us 49.3%.

This means that the fat of the full-cream milk counts for about half of the calories which one find in milk. It thus acts definitively of a fatty food.

In the case of milk 2% one finds 5 grams of fat in 250 milliliters of milk. This quantity of milk generates 129 calories. Same calculation used higher indicates to us than the fat, in this milk, counts for 34.8% of the total calories. It thus acts also of a milk which still contains much fat.

Milk with 1% fat content contains 2.7 grams of fat counts for 22.5% of the total calories. It thus does not act of a weak food in fat.

Even skimmed milk contains fat. By portion of 250 milliliters, one finds 0.5% gram of fat there. This milk generates on the whole 91 calories. In this type of milk known as skimmed, the fat thus counts for 4.9% of the total calories. It is a milk less fatty than the others, but it is certainly not a genuine food without fat.

For any person eager to reduce her consumption of fat, it is necessary to consume little milk and especially to choose milk known as skimmed. It should be known that 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of full-cream milk bring 3.34 grams of total fat, with including 2.08 grams of saturated fats. Two thirds of the fat of milk thus are practically saturated. Moreover, this same quantity of fat brings 13,5 milligrams of cholesterol.

Are the daily quantities of dairy products recommended by the food guides quite compatible with the objective to maintain low fuel consumption of saturated fats? Certainly not. There is any advantage to limit the consumption of milk at least and to limit itself to a reasonable thin yogurt consumption or certain soft white cheeses containing less than 0.5% of volume of fat.
